Abstract

JUAREZ GARCIA, Hugón; VENTURA, Carlos E.; GOMEZ BERNAL, Alonso  and  PELCASTRE PEREZ, Elsa. Comportamiento de componentes no estructurales ante diferentes escenarios sísmicos. Concr. cem. investig. desarro [online]. 2014, vol.5, n.2, pp.12-25. ISSN 2007-3011.

In recent earthquakes it has become clear that, in addition to the safety related aspects of the seismic performance of Non Structural Componets (NSC), the economic impact of the poor or marginal performance of them can be very severe. In this paper, a seismic risk assessment study conducted as part of a major project included the evaluation of the performance of NSCs. The response spectra from the earthquake scenarios are used to compute floor response spectra (acceleration, velocity and displacement) in order to gain a better understanding of the demands experienced by NSCs.

Keywords : Seismic performance; non structural components; floor spectra; free and forced dynamic characteristics; seismic scenarios.
