SANTANA-MORENO, Luis Daniel; ROJAS-GONZALEZ, Ramón Isaac and WAKIDA-KUSUNOKI, Armando T.. First record of Ambidexter symmetricus (Decapoda: Caridea: Processidae) from the Yucatán Peninsula. Rev. Mex. Biodiv. [online]. 2016, vol.87, n.3, pp.1138-1140. ISSN 2007-8706. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.rmb.2016.07.008.
The first record of Ambidexter symmetricus from the Yucatán Peninsula is herein reported; extending the geographic range of the species to the southeastern Gulf of Mexico. During monthly visits to Seybaplaya, Campeche in 2014, a total of 13 specimens were collected from May to November; 1 specimen was male and the rest were ovigerous females, suggesting that this species has a continuous reproduction.
