Abstract

ALBARRAN-LOZANO, Irene  and  ALONSO-GONZALEZ, Pablo. Participation of handicapped and dependent people in the Spanish labor market. Pap. poblac [online]. 2010, vol.16, n.64, pp.218-256. ISSN 2448-7147.

This paper tries to analyze the degree of participation in the Spanish Labor Market registered by handicapped and dependent people. Firstly, a description of social and demographic characteristics is made for each group. It is given special emphasis in items such as age, gender, studies or kind of suffered disability. The statistical analysis of the participation in the labor market is made using binary logit models. They are used to assess the effect on the likelihood to be into the labor market due to each of the previously mentioned characteristics. Four models have been estimated, and the goodness of fit has been checked with ROC curves.
