The objective is to determine the value of competency-based education and its influence on educating students in key competencies. A case study was carried out through teacher narratives and dialogues concerning their actions, observations, and evaluation of educational practices in the classroom and in a discussion group. The qualitative data were submitted to processes of expert discussion and triangulation to attain greater understanding of content.
