Abstract

HERNANDEZ REYNA, Míriam. Historicity regimes in the pluricultural nation: intercultural education and time experiences in an era of multiculturalism. Hist. graf [online]. 2016, n.47, pp.179-215. ISSN 1405-0927.

The implementation of multiculturalism and intercultural higher education in Mexico since 2001, has given a new rise to the political rewritings of the pre-Conquest past. Despite their promotion as an innovation, these programs are a new expression of the institutional narrative of national origins, which is currently being tested by contemporary perceptions of the present and the future that question or reinforce it. Through a perspective of historicity regimes, we will analyze the formation of a national regime of historicity and its integration in intercultural education. We will also examine the presence of visions of the past, the present and the future in two intercultural universities, where we find a plural set of experiences of time. We will see how these perceptions of history are involved in a social field of discordant historicities and hopes to build the future, while reaffirming an ancestral past.

Keywords : multiculturalism; intercultural education; historicity regimes.
