Abstract

SANZ, Claudia Linhares  and  SOUZA, Fabiane de. Between Ghosts and Photography: an Historical Aliance in Means of Transformation. Acta poét [online]. 2019, vol.40, n.2, pp.61-75. ISSN 2448-735X.  https://doi.org/10.19130/iifl.ap.2019.2.856.

In modernity, the popularity of ghosts is consolidated as a symptom of certain manners of narrating history and of experiencing time. Modern technologies propel a new domain of returning beings: it is a reorganization of the field of the visible in which photography intervenes as positivity, shifting and reorganizing the experience of imagery. Because they were never entirely in the past nor the present, photographs constituted themselves as beings as unstable as ghosts. Were they, however, the same ghosts that haunt us today?

Keywords : photography; experience; modernity; ghost; contemporary.
