Abstract

RABINOVICH, Silvana. Un lituano en París (en torno a un recorrido transfronterizo de la fenomenología). Acta poét [online]. 2008, vol.29, n.2, pp.461-479. ISSN 2448-735X.

This text focuses on Emmanuel Levinas as the introducer of phenomenology in France. It aims at studying the philosopher as a translator in the wide sense of the term. Taking his French translation (in collaboration) of Husserl's Meditations Cartessiennes as a point of departure, I go through the levinasian (phenomenological) writings uncovering five "philosphical gestures" which relate his thoughts with the political scenarios of the 20th Century. Thus, a German Jew's philosophy is sheltered by the Lithuanian philosopher in Paris at the darkest times of the century.

Keywords : Levinas; fenomenología; filosofía; política; traducción.
