Rhetoric is not the same as the modern Theory of Communication. Its concept is always, from the very day of its birth, attached in an inextricable way to the concepts of “democracy”, “ethics” and “politics”. It is not possible to isolate the concept of “Rhetoric” from the conception of “Political Ethics” based on democracy, which was elaborated by the Sophistic Movement.
