Abstract
HERMESSE, Julie. Paso de la tempestad tropical Stan en el altiplano MAM de Guatemala: de la naturaleza como producto social a la naturaleza como sujeto de una relación social. Nueva antropol [online]. 2012, vol.25, n.76, pp.103-119. ISSN 0185-0636.
In this article the author's aim is to analyze the ontological systems expressed in discourse on the etiology of natural disasters in a Mam municipality of the western Guatemala highlands, an area affected by a tropical storm. Largely inspired by the ontological structures developed by Descola, a double reading is offered on the imbalance between human and non-human entities. In addition to the existence of a naturalistic ontological system that underscores the social construction of natural disasters resulting from an anthropic imbalance in the ecosystem, for these communities Maya analogical ontology suggests the need to conceive the non-human entities constituting "nature" as part of a social collectivity and as actors in the relationship with human beings.
Keywords : analogical ontology; Descola; natural disaster; Mam Maya.
