The journal Connotas, Revista de crítica y teoría literarias is conceived as a contribution to academic exchange in the field of literary research. It is aimed at language and literature scholars and researchers. The journal publishes articles and critical notes on Mexican, Latin American and Spanish Literature, Literary theory, as well as critical or theoretical book reviews in the field of Humanities.

Connotas is an open access journal and all its content is available online to readers without paying fees or registering. It is edited and financed by the Universidad of Sonora through its Department of Literature and Linguistics. The journal is published semiannually in Spanish and nonprofit both in printed and electronic format. In order to ensure the content quality a double-blind procedure is applied to the works received.
