Abstract

The authors of this article postulate the possibility of identifying the intention that university students have towards entrepreneurship, starting from engagement. The research is conducted with groups of different degrees and engineering in the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico. Firstly, some important elements in the literature related to engagement and entrepreneurship are presented. Subsequently we analyze the results obtained from the application of the UWES test, which reveals how the level of vigor, dedication and absorption between the study subjects is. These characteristics are associated to the cognitive affective state that impacts among other things in the entrepreneurial performance and hence the interest of measuring them. Includes some trends similarities during the university career of both groups and some significant differences that stand out. Finally, the authors of the present study conclude that there is a greater interest in the study of the behavior of the entrepreneur from his/her walk through the university classrooms, and in particular their level of engagement and some recommendations on training actions of entrepreneurial culture.
