Abstract

INFANTE BONFIGLIO, José María. Elections in Nuevo Leon (Mexico), 2015. Candidates, Public Opinion and Votes. Rev. mex. opinión pública [online]. 2017, n.22, pp.71-89. ISSN 2448-4911.

This paper presents an analysis of the electoral process happened in the year 2015 in the State of Nuevo Leon, Mexico, where a new governor was elected and the mayors of 51 municipalities and all the deputies of the local Congress (42).

The study takes into account only the course for the renewal of governor, unless it means diminishing the importance and complex determinations that may be framing other elected positions. Several surveys are analyzed, from different sources, where related motivations and some ideological values with the voting behavior.

It can be concluded that while some of the claims of the theory of election processes receive confirmation, other assumptions or principles are still present doubts as to its consistency and recurrence.

Keywords : Elections; Nuevo Leon (Mexico); opinion polls; independent candidates.
