Abstract
ROSAS LUSETT, Mireya Alicia and GARCIA IZAGUIRRE, Víctor M.. The influence of configuration of urban canyons in pedestrian comfort. Nova scientia [online]. 2014, vol.6, n.11, pp.228-253. ISSN 2007-0705.
The suburb of social interest Elias Piña located in Tampico, México in a warm humid climate, with an annual average temperature in summer of 28.3ºC, in winter of 20.5ºC and an annual average of moisture of 78%, this consists of small houses and buildings of three level condominiums, which have pedestrian circulations with different orientations and different width and height, which is of interest to evaluate the influence of these different canyons for pedestrian comfort. This research aims to detect the dominance of how the different orientations of the different urban canyons influence the users comfort for which the study variables in place will be analyzed (temperature, radiation, humidity, wind and material, vertical and horizontal vegetation) at critical times, where it is considered that the solar radiation heat production increases. The objective of this research is to establish how you can reduce heat. Additional to this, it is to determine which materials, according to their albedo and emittance, reduce profits by radiation. For the development of this study a methodology has been applied in a different urban context that this study seeks to make, which takes a second objective to validate this methodology and the scales that were applied to the new configuration of the study, to answer the following questions. Will the pedestrian comfort depend on the urban canyon? On its orientation? On the type of vegetation that it has, on the kind of materials used? Of the materials used for the horizontal limits and vertical limits? Answers are presented in this research.
