Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present descriptive statistics of the "victimization and violence in Guadalajara Metropolitan Area ". The offenses included in the research are: burglary, partial or total vehicle theft, assault, attack, threat, fraud, extortion, kidnapping and harassment or sexual offenses. Among the most relevant data we can mention the following: 22% of respondents experienced some form of crime, 28% of households suffered crime. Among crimes with the highest incidence are burglary 15%, vehicle theft 14% and theft or assault 31%. The study also includes information on the perception of insecurity, where we can mention that only 51% of households feel safe. But if we consider the families who suffered some crime the figure is significantly reduced to 37%, while for those who did not experience any crime, the percentage rises to 54%.
