This manuscript analyzes some aspects of the philosophical paradigm of virtue and how it could thoroughly impact the teaching of chemistry. Specifically, research is done on the relationship the notion of virtue has with ethical and epistemological matters in science education; striving therein to promote reflection on chemical content, internal procedures which shape disciplinary research and the role this important science plays in society. In this way, what has been called formation in virtues is presented as a good-natured objective in the current context of chemistry education.
