Abstract

MOYA, Alicia; CUBA RODRIGUEZ, Yariannis; PERALTA GONZALEZ, María Josefa  and  OLIVERA BATISTA, Dianelis. The Evaluation of Science from the Standpoint of Sociology in the Context of Universities. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2020, vol.35, n.99, pp.303-318.  Epub Mar 09, 2021. ISSN 2007-8358.

The authors of this article recognize scientific activity and science as a strategic variable for a nation’s development because of its marked social character. In academic institutions, it is a substantive process that complements professional training and enriches the construction of teachers’ knowledge. It generates scientific publications, which are a way of communicating science, making up a community’s scientific production. This can be evaluated using different theoretical approaches, and therefore, this article proposes a new way of looking at it from the sociological perspective.

Keywords : evaluation of science; sociology of science; scientific articles; social factors; university.
