Abstract
DEVEAUX DURAN, Sofía. Corporeality and Performance in Contexts of Violence. Sociológica (Méx.) [online]. 2012, vol.27, n.75, pp.69-93. ISSN 2007-8358.
Social performance generated by groups of organized crime as a strategy of psychological violence uses the body as a message and sparks changes in the corporeality of their "audience." This affects the social relations and economic and cultural structures of towns and cities, changing them. The study of corporeality and performance allows us to understand the social processes from a corporeal perspective, as an important dimension in contexts in which the non-rational exchange in living together and uncertain security exalt the individual's vitality. The author focuses on the current Mexican and Colombian situations to understand their implications.
Keywords : corporeality; performance; body; materiality; violence; organized crime.
