Abstract

ORTIZ CACERES, Iván. Curriculum management in the schools with Information and Communication Technologies: Sistematization of some experiences in Chile. Perfiles educativos [online]. 2013, vol.35, n.141, pp.152-166. ISSN 0185-2698.

This article describes an experience about using a kind Information and Communication Technology (ICT) that was developed exclusively to help the technical and teaching leaders to monitor the day-to-day acquisition of knowledge in their institution. On one hand, it shows how this ICT appropriation experience takes place in the school sector; on the other, from a critical point of view, the authors review the management of pedagogical and curriculum matters in schools. This tool was used by 28 educational establishments in Santiago de Chile as a pilot program in order to verify its utility for the pedagogical and curriculum management of technical and teaching leaders. The main lesson of this experiment is that even the useful and good rated ITC applications show difficulties for their appropriation by schools if they are not supported by adequate management and stimuli conditions.
