Abstract
ROBLES, Bernardo. The in-depth interview: a useful technique in the field of physical anthropology. Cuicuilco [online]. 2011, vol.18, n.52, pp.39-49. ISSN 0185-1659.
Qualitative methods are based on the "interpretation" of social reality, values, customs and ideologies, whilst worldviews are constructed from a subjective discourse, given that the investigator assigns a specific meaning and a particular significance to the experience of others. In qualitative studies there are different techniques that help us approach social phenomena, among these, the in-depth interview plays an important role as it is founded on repeated, face-to-face meetings between the researcher and interviewees with the goal of getting deeper into their personal intimacy and thus understanding each individual. This text will describe the main features of in-depth interviews as a key form of deepening social subjectivity within the anthropological field.
