ZAYAGO LAU, Edgar; FOLADORI, Guillermo; APPELBAUM, Richard P. y ARTEAGA FIGUEROA, Edgar Ramón. Nanotechnology companies in Mexico: toward a first inventory. Estud. soc [online]. 2013, vol.21, n.42, pp.9-25. ISSN 0188-4557.
In this article we present an initial inventory of Mexican companies that sell products that are either manufactured from nanotechnology or that use nanotechnology in their functioning. The inventory allows to those interested review the number of companies, their geographic location and the industrial sectors where they are inserted. This is, indeed, a first approach to analyze the productive linkages of nanotechnology in Mexico. The results show a high concentration of companies in two states: Nuevo Leon and Mexico City. This occurs in a context where there is no a National Nanotechnology Initiative, a specific public policies either, and where there is no publically available data or databases containing relevant information.
