CAJAL CALVO, Juan Ramón y; DIAZ GORDO, Enrique  and  PEREZ ABAD, Laura. Bone liposclerosing fibromyxoma: main radiological findings. Acta méd. Grupo Ángeles [online]. 2024, vol.22, n.3, pp.239-241.  Epub Feb 10, 2025. ISSN 1870-7203.  https://doi.org/10.35366/116835.

Introduction:

Bone liposclerosing fibromyxoma (FLO) is a benign fibro-osseous neoplasm that has a predilection for the intertrochanteric region of the femur, imaging tests are essential for its diagnosis.

Clinical case:

45-year-old patient with chronic pain in the right hip, imaging tests show a sclerotic lesion in the right femur, for which surgery was performed and whose pathological result is definitive of FLO.

Conclusion:

Liposclerosing fibroma is a rare benign lesion. It can become malignant in 10-15%. It usually appears in bones such as the femur, with characteristic images on X-rays and MRIs. Treatment is usually conservative.

Keywords : femur; fibrous bone dysplasia; magnetic resonance imaging.
