Abstract

MARIN-ROSAS, Pablo et al. The Use of Porous Materials in Heterogeneous Catalysis. J. Mex. Chem. Soc [online]. 2025, vol.69, n.1, pp.259-267.  Epub Nov 10, 2025. ISSN 1870-249X.  https://doi.org/10.29356/jmcs.v69i1.2270.

Heterogeneous catalysis, a cornerstone of the industry, offers the practical advantage of easy recovery and multiple reuses, leading to significant process cost reduction. The catalytic activity of porous materials, such as silica-based, zeolites, and MOFs, has proven to be not just interesting, but also superior to conventional heterogeneous systems. In this paper, we highlight the practical importance of these materials, their advances and modifications through the years, and their use as catalysts or support for other materials to enhance their catalytic properties.

Keywords : MOFs; zeolites; silicates; catalysts; heterogeneous systems.
