Latinoamérica [online]. 2025, n.80, pp.81-104.  Epub Jan 12, 2026. ISSN 2448-6914.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cialc.24486914e.2025.80.57637.

This paper seeks to recover the tensions between the energy transition perspective in Argentina at the end of the eighties and beginning of the nineties, as a consequence of the relocation of a mapuche community in northern Patagonia. The relocation occurred due to the flooding of Río Limay, for the construction of a hydroelectric dam. The article relates the emotions resulting from the inhabitants 20 and 30 years after the event.

Keywords : Energy poverty; Energy projects; Indigenous community; Argentine Patagonia.
