The porpoise of this article is to show the relevance of Juan Rulfo’s work in the literary production of García Márquez, and how that leaded the Colombian author to a literary style against the non-fiction tradition. In our opinion, that process leaved traces in the style of García Márquez like metonym, metaphor, prolepsis and what we call here lyric prose.
