Abstract

The Collection of Benefic and Entomophagous Insects, CIBE is an entomological collection held at the Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas (FCB) of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL) which specializes in parasitoid wasps (order Hymenoptera). This collection holds 105,000 specimens of the superfamilies Ceraphronoidea, Chalcidoidea, Cynipoidea, Evanoidea, Ichnemonoidea, Megalyroidea, Mymarommatoidea, Platygastroidea, Proctotrupoidea, Stephanoidea and Trigonalyoidea. Among the best represented families are Braconidae with 123 genera and 23 species, Ichneumonidae with 52 genera and 59 species, Encyrtidae with 100 genera and 29 species, and Eulophidae with 53 genera and 65 species. In the CIBE there are ten paratypes of the species: Triaspis eugenii Wharton & López-Martínez 2000, Retusigaster albopilosus 2003 Mercado, Retusigaster noguerai 2003 Mercado (Braconidae), Itoplectis gonzalezi Kasparyan 2007, Itoplectis nigrithorax Kaparyan 2007, Itoplectis specularis Kasparyan 2007, Iseropus hylesiae Kasparyan 2006 (Ichneumonidae), Aranobroter rayorae LaSalle 1990, Baryscapus uetzi LaSalle 1990 (Eulophidae), and Spalangia imitator Gibson 2009 (Pteromalidae).
