Abstract

A simple method to fabricate infrared (λ = 10.6 μm) diffractive optical elements that work in a transmission mode is presented. A laser-writing instrument completely under computer control has been built to demonstrate the feasibility of this method. Several diffractive elements, fabricated using the laser-writing instrument, are described.

Keywords: Diffractive elements, infrared, infrared components, transmissive optics.
