Abstract

Orbital exenteration is a disfiguring surgical procedure, which consists in the resection of the entire orbital content. It is mainly used in malignant pathologies with invasion of the orbital content. Squamous cell carcinoma is the second cause of periorbital carcinoma, up to 21% of patients present metastasis. A 64-year-old male, with recurrent squamous cell carcinoma, invasion of extraocular muscles, eyeball, and orbital bone tissue, who underwent orbital exenteration + temporoparietal flap and skin graft. Cutaneous cancers of the head and neck are among the pathologies with the highest morbi-mortality rate when they are not treated in time.
