Abstract

Anesthesia and neuroquirurgical surgery on a pediatric patient, requires a number of specific points, which depend greatly on the success of the surgery. Highlights of the anatomical and physiological differences of the child under three years old, the approach to the airway, continuous monitoring of the temperature, the liquid handling, blood volume, the position of the patient and constant monitoring. Therefore the demands of children are higher and as a result, care and peri-operative of such surveillance are greater. Children under three years old, are more likely to develop complications common for this type of surgery.
