Abstract

VILLEGAS TERAN, Karina. Criminological theories and the arrival of the Bertillon system to Mexico City. A Case of success?. Let. hist. [online]. 2015, n.13, pp.87-110. ISSN 2448-8372.

In the last years of the nineteenth century the arrival of criminological theories in Mexico impulse the introduction of new techniques for the criminal identification. Once of this was the Bertillon system, that the people hoped, serve to define, through scientific precepts, who and how was the criminal. This system changed the forms that criminals were perceived by students of criminology, which, as will be seen, raised various controversies about the treat of criminals, and the posibilities that they have for regenerate.
