Abstract

FERNANDEZ DE MOLINA ORTES, Elena. El habla de Mérida y sus cercanías. New Times and New Linguistic Attitudes. Anu. let. lingüíst. filol. [online]. 2018, vol.6, n.1, pp.119-154.  Epub Dec 06, 2021. ISSN 2448-8224.  https://doi.org/10.19130/iifl.adel.6.1.2018.1479.

In this paper, we present the results of the contrastive analysis between an urban area, Merida and the speech of a rural area, Merida´s region. We will start from the study carried out by Zamora Vicente in the 1940s and, in this research, we will want to confirm if some phonetic and morphosyntactic phenomena that the author presented in his study are still present in the speakers of the region or if they have changed during this time. In the comparative study, in addition, we will analyze the possible linguistic change in the Merida´s region with the application of the perspective of real-time and apparent-time using, for the first case, the groups selected by the author and, in the second, a sociolinguistic perspective.

Keywords : Mérida; region; real-time; apparent-time; phonetic; morphosyntactic.
