Abstract

RIGGER, Lea; MERAZ-RUIZ, Lino  and  OLAGUE, José T.. Research and development in Andalusia in the Spanish and European context (2010 -2017). Investig. adm. [online]. 2021, vol.50, n.128, 12810.  Epub Aug 23, 2021. ISSN 2448-7678.  https://doi.org/10.35426/iav50n128.10.

The R&D activities carried out in Spain are essential for the formulation of public policies in favor of science, technology and innovation capacities; For this reason, the objective of this work has been to analyze the science and technology indicators of the autonomous community of Andalusia, the largest of Spanish territorial entities, through a comparison at national and European levels from 2010 to 2017. The method consisted of a descriptive analysis using data obtained from national and European official databases. From the results it was observed that Andalusia has presented a process of progress in R&D for its growth and regional well-being. Thus, the originality of this work lies in the fact that the empirical research on R&D evaluation has been relatively recent, having as its main finding that knowledge management is the primary element for taking advantage of a region's investment. The limitations lie in the way of measuring performance indicators from one region to another.

Keywords : R&D activities; innovation; science; technology; Andalusia; Spain; Europe; O3; O32.
