Abstract

OLLIVIER FIERRO, Juan Óscar; MARTINEZ RAMOS, Pedro Javier  and  DOMINGUEZ ALCARAZ, Isidro. Technological maturity and innovation in Mexican companies. Investig. adm. [online]. 2021, vol.50, n.128, 12809.  Epub Aug 23, 2021. ISSN 2448-7678.  https://doi.org/10.35426/iav50n128.09.

Given that technology occupies an increasingly important role in organizations, the objective of this study was to review the scale used by INEGI to measure technological maturity in companies in Mexico, analyze its consistency and applicability. The method consisted of making a review of the national and international scales to evaluate aspects related to the subject, as well as the analysis of the scale used in the national survey on technological research and development ESIDET, carried out by said institute in 2017 in companies. The results show some inconsistencies in this scale, such as the lack of univocity, progressivity and universality in the six levels of the scale, as well as findings in the low correlation between them. Originality is the proposal of concepts for a new scale that aims to correct these inconsistencies. The main limitation consisted in considering the analysis only the survey conducted in Mexico.
