Abstract
TEJEDA-VILLANUEVA, Angélica; BLANCO-JIMENEZ, Mónica and GUERRA-MOYA, Sergio. Factors driving imports of processed food companies, improving their competitiveness. Investig. adm. [online]. 2019, vol.48, n.124. ISSN 2448-7678.
The internationalization of companies drives the search for competitive foreign suppliers. Therefore, the objective of this research is to determine the factors that improve imports of processed foods in large food companies in Mexico. The research methodtechnique to collect data was the elaboration of a survey of 55 questions that was applied to the most important biglarge companies in Northern Mexico. The results of the multiple linear regression method show that: the international price, the required quality, the foreign availability of the product, the knowledge of the procedures for customs clearance and the logistics capability of the company explain the 66.4% of the impact to imports, showing another finding, the negative relationship in the logistics capability. One of the main limitations of the study was that people surveyed could answer the survey within their limited time. The originality lies in presenting imports as a competitive strategy, using 5 key factors.
