Abstract

The arrival of generation Y, also known as millennials to the workplace has led to a series of questions about their preferences when choosing a job. The goal in this research is to design and validate a talent retention model. A quantitative method was used, a survey that was designed with 34 items and it was applied to 332 people from the northwest of Mexico. An analysis was done with favorable results to measure the validity and reliability of the four constructs. Among the findings found it, was observed that the main preferences for generation Y are: benefits (AV= 4.71), and growth opportunities (AV = 4.68), in terms of limitations, it is necessary to continue improving the model to be useful in different contexts.
