Abstract

MENDOZA MOHENO, Jessica; SALAZAR HERNANDEZ, Blanca Cecilia  and  HERNANDEZ CALZADA, Martín Aubert. Diagnosis and distribution of technological capabilities in Mexico. Analysis and comparison between federal entities. Investig. adm. [online]. 2017, vol.46, n.120. ISSN 2448-7678.

The aim of this research is to analyze the distribution of technological capabilities (TC) in Mexico, in order to obtain a diagnosis and the way they are grouped in the different states, through a cluster analysis. Based on a study made by CEPAL (Lugones, Gutti & Le Clech, 2007), we made a desk-based research considering the available basis, the efforts made, and the results achieved by the different entities, in order to establish a ranking and a cluster analysis. The results show a heterogeneity in the distribution of TC. We obtained 3 clusters, where the highest concentration of capabilities is in Mexico City. The contribution of this study is the analysis of the distribution of TC in the country, since there is research at Latin America and worldwide level, but not in the country. The main limitation is the year corresponding information of the dimensions.

Keywords : Technological capabilities; absorptive capabilities; innovation capabilities; diagnosis; distribution.
