Abstract

GOMEZ RAMOS, Elsy Lizbeth  and  GUERRERO MARTINEZ, Héctor Adrián. Design of a fuzzy cognitive map as an approach to a contemporary socioeconomic structure: Contributions from institutionalism. Anál. econ. [online]. 2020, vol.35, n.89, pp.65-89.  Epub Nov 13, 2020. ISSN 2448-6655.

Recent contributions point out that "the wealth of nations" is found in what they call intangible capital (institutions). This implies that to come up with solutions for the less favored nations, the first step is to analyze their environments. In the case of the Mexican economy, the literature has analyzed: poverty, weakness in public finances and the scarcity of financing, with the idea of exposing the fundamental causes of economic stagnation. One way to unify these contributions is through Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs). The objective of the study is to design FCM that relates some of the contemporary problems (social structure) of the Mexican economy exposed from institutionalism. The balance of the system indicates that the central analysis node: economic stagnation, can be explained by its own nature and by the poor development of the banking system.

Keywords : Institutionalism; Fuzzy Cognitive Map (FCM); Fuzzy logic; Mexico.
