Abstract

ZAGAL-TRANQUILINO, Marcelino et al. Hydroponics maize green forage production with watering every 24 hours. Abanico vet [online]. 2016, vol.6, n.1, pp.29-34. ISSN 2448-6132.

Hydroponic Green Forage (HGF) is the product obtained from germinating cereal grains which is harvest after 12 days, and given to animals as diet. In this experiment, the watering was administrated every 24 hours, 1 Lt per each kg of corn, on cardbord trays. Harvest was made at day 13,14, and 15. Plant height, total yield kg, root kg, stem kg, leaf kg and ungerminated seed kg were measured. The results were statistically analyzed with ANOVA and Tukey. The highest values were at day 13: 30.45 average height ± 4.5 cm, and a yield of 2.5335 ± 0.3 kg, this due to the 80.5% of germination. It is concluded that, the production of HGF of corn on cardboard trays with irrigation every 24 hours is feasible.
