Abstract

GONZALEZ, Nicolás Guillermo. The Argentine nation-state punishing drug users in the last military dictatorship. Inter disciplina [online]. 2023, vol.11, n.31, pp.171-194.  Epub Nov 10, 2023. ISSN 2448-5705.  https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2023.31.80833.

This article is part of the sociocultural model for the study of the “drug problem”, emphasizing the “state” and “national” phenomenon in determining drug use as a behavior, which is deviated, and classified as a criminal offense. It is an articulation of macro and micro dimensions in a historical journey oriented around a judicial ruling in the last Argentine military dictatorship. The study of this case allowed us to identify a pattern in the actions of the Argentine nation-state in criminally punishing drug consumption, articulated with the concept of the national regime of alterity.

Keywords : drug policy; alterity; nation-state; Argentina.
