Abstract
MONTOYA HERRERA, Mariana and RIVERA GONZALEZ, Ángel Eustorgio. Facilitators and barriers of knowledge transfer between cooperative societies. Inter disciplina [online]. 2023, vol.11, n.30, pp.177-213. Epub Sep 01, 2023. ISSN 2448-5705. https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2023.30.80421.
Knowledge transfer is a practice that can be carried out by any type of organization, however, for its exploitation it must be carried out in an organized and systematic way. The objective of this document is to identify the inter-organizational knowledge transfer enablers and barriers between four cooperatives from Mexico City. The applied methodology was qualitative, based on participant observation and the application of semi-structured interviews. In order to analyze data, we use content analysis by identifying keywords and thematic axes. This allowed, to assess the knowledge transfer process between cooperatives and, on the other, to contrast the theory about its enablers and barriers. This paper strengthens the findings of previous studies that identify the enablers and barriers to transfer inter organizational knowledge. Additionally, the paper suggests that cooperatives require building or consolidating an organizational culture that understands and facilitates the transfer of knowledge to be consistent with its own organizational value such as cooperation between cooperatives. Moreover, this study expands the understanding of how the process of transfer of knowledge helps organizations to achieve strategic alliances, innovation and even rethink the meaning of knowledge and the use of intangible resources.
