Abstract

FIERRO MORENO, Eréndira. Response strategies, protection of workers’ rights and change management of Mexican companies in the face of the Covid-19 crisis. Inter disciplina [online]. 2023, vol.11, n.29, pp.289-309.  Epub June 26, 2023. ISSN 2448-5705.  https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2023.29.84492.

Faced with the health and economic contingency in which society finds itself, this article aims to determine to what extent response strategies and worker’s rights influence the management of change in the face of the Covid-19 crisis. The methodology used was that of a multiple regression model with data obtained from the Survey of Response Strategies of Mexican Companies (EEREM, Spanish initials) 2020, which is based on a non-probabilistic sampling (for convenience-volunteer subjects) to 109 companies in Mexico; whose unit of analysis was mostly senior and middle managers. The results show that response strategies and the protection of workers’ rights in the face of the Covid-19 crisis predict that change management is an element for companies to face new challenges. In addition to the above, this study confirms a positive and significant relationship between response strategies in change management processes that are necessary in companies in the face of the Covid-19 crisis.
