Abstract

RODRIGUEZ SOLIS, Arístides. Society as a system and self management in José Revueltas’ thought. Inter disciplina [online]. 2022, vol.10, n.28, pp.447-463.  Epub Dec 05, 2022. ISSN 2448-5705.  https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2022.28.83310.

The present article compares the philosophical thought of José Revueltas with the systemic and complex theories of society, especially regarding the sociological work of Niklas Luhmann. It approaches the fundamental notions that in Revueltas’ work suggest a theoretical conception of society, as well as the aspects that make it particular, such as its relation with the events of the Mexican student’s protest of 1968 and the philosophical concepts of movement and self management. It raises the concepts that clearly intersect with Luhmann’s thought, to support the idea of a systemic theorization of society in Revueltas. Finally, exposes the relationship between self management, autopoiesis and self organization in order to point out the importance of Revueltas’ social thought in regard of our understanding and participation as subjects in society.

Keywords : José Revueltas; Niklas Luhmann; social system; self management; complexity.
