This paper discusses some of the representations that have the inhabitants of Saint-Rémi, Quebec, regarding “seasonal” agricultural migrant’s workers and, at the same time, the representations that they have in relation to those who live in this community permanently. Likewise, explains how representations have an impact on the construction of social relations between migrants and host community members. The research is based on the theory of social representations proposed by Sergei Moscovici and in the ethnographic work carried out in Québec and in the communities of origin of the migrants.
