In the present work, will be a reflection on the principle of supremacy of the Constitution, international treaties in the field of human rights, on the basis of the analysis and implications of the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) in the contradiction of criteria 293/2011.

To do this, first, shall be the conceptual notions of what is meant in the doctrine bythe principle of constitutional supremacy. Secondly, there will be a timely analysis of the contradiction of criteria 293/2011, settled by the Supreme Court on 3 September 2013; and finally there will be a reflection on the hierarchy of the constitutional rules regarding the norms of international law of human rights.
