The entrepreneurship of the returned migrants, the role of the characteristics of the migrants and the particularities of the migratory experience. The case of the State of México. Rev. econ. [online]. 2019, vol.36, n.92, pp.46-93.  Epub Sep 06, 2019. ISSN 2395-8715.

This paper seeks to identify the role played by the characteristics of the returned migrants and the particularities of the migration experience on the decision of entrepreneurship of the returned migrants from the United States to the state of Mexico. For it, data from 334 in-depth interviews applied to returned migrants in 12 urban and rural municipalities from the state of Mexico were studied through a descriptive statistics analysis, a univariate test and the estimation of a probit model. The results show that among the factors that positively impact the decision of entrepreneurship of returned migrants are: the elapsed time from the first migration, as well as some characteristics of the migratory experience, such as the dollars saved, the dollars invested in business, and the economic situation without worries of the migrants on return; while some current occupations of the returnees, such as professional and technical experts as well as the operators of industrial machinery, assemblers and drivers, inhibit entrepreneurial activity.
