Modern man’s life (in the 19th and 20th centuries) forces him to adopt, in the face of his own tasks, rather passive attitudes. The fact of preparing my autobiography by external request could satisfy me and fulfil my vanity. But, what can be told by a man of 66 years, that has never been strong, and that, rather than an actor, is always been a spectator? Also, perhaps, I have already abused of the autobiographical genre, not as a mirror of myself, but of them around me; however, my family memories stopped at the year 1956 and from there on I think that I lived a sort of a shadow.
