Abstract

JIMENEZ-PENA, Nadia et al. Mycorrhizal colonization of Laelia autumnalis (La Llave & Lex.) Lindl.). Ecosistemas y recur. agropecuarios [online]. 2018, vol.5, n.15, pp.547-553. ISSN 2007-901X.  https://doi.org/10.19136/era.a5n15.1756.

This research aimed to determine the presence and degree of mycorrhizal colonization in roots of the epiphytic orchid Laelia autumnalis, which grows naturally in oak forests of the State of Michoacán, México. Mycorrhizal colonization was observed in the roots of the seven study sites; colonization varied according to the type and section of root sampled, and the sampling site, with colonization being greater in the basal part of the mature roots. The roots that grew in organic matter had greater colonization than those that grew outside the organic matter. This is one of the first reports indicating mycorrhizal colonization in roots of the epiphytic orchid Laelia autumnalis.

Keywords : Root colonization; orchid mycorrhiza; epiphytic orchid; pelotons.
