Abstract

Home gardens are complex and varied, represent an important space for social and cultural cohesion through activities use and management of biodiversity. In the state and municipality of Campeche are few studies on home gardens, focusing most of these in the south. A previous tour was conducted in the communities of Chemblas and Los Laureles to select home gardens, semi-structured interviews was used with the aim of documenting traditional use of flora and fauna in home gardens six orchards Chemblas eight in Los Laureles. The floristic survey recorded a total of 85 species, 74 genera and 41 families in the community of Chemblas and 88 species, 79 genera and 45 families in Los Laureles; which they were grouped into 12 types of use in Chemblas nine in Los Laureles. The fauna recorded a total of six families, seven genera and seven species in the community of Chemblas, seven families, 10 genera and 10 species in the Laureles, in both communities use for seven types of wildlife were recorded.
