BUGNONE, Ana; FERNANDEZ, Clarisa; CAPASSO, Verónica  and  URTUBEY, Federico. Social Studies of art and transdisciplinarity: a methodological proposal. Cultura representaciones soc [online]. 2019, vol.13, n.26, pp.388-411. ISSN 2007-8110.  https://doi.org/10.28965/2019-26-14.

Abstract: This paper focuses on methodological strategies used in social studies of Art. Based on a transdisciplinarity which fosters the social analysis of the artistic phenomena, a case is made for traditional methodological approaches applied in Art to be reconsidered. An analysis is made of two methodological strategies designed to carry out studies related to the artistic milieu in social sciences. The aim is to develop a methodological proposal that considers the historization and tangible localization of objects, disciplinary dialogue, the inquisitive contemplation of the researcher within his/her own practice and academic institutions, and the construction of an ad hoc knowledge for the Latin-American world.

Keywords : social studies of art; transdisciplinarity; critical epistemology; Latin America.
