Abstract

ALTBACH PEREZ, Daniel. Del hombre-dios al cristo-sol: La religión y la tradición religiosa mesoamericana en la obra de Alfredo López Austin. Cultura representaciones soc [online]. 2015, vol.9, n.18, pp.124-161. ISSN 2007-8110.

This text identifies two of the models created and employed by Alfredo López Austin for the study of the unitary or plural character of the gods and the Mesoamerican religion, and the continuities and transformations following the European irruption. Its proposed "hombre-dios"(ManGod) axis, of the Cosmo vision model, or the "Cristo-Sol" (ChristSun), allows us to see the evolution of the theoretical and methodological debates between history and anthropology over the last 40 years, as well as the lack of rethinking concerning such approach in the field of Mesoamerican Studies, particularly among the researchers who use the models of Cosmo vision, folk culture, popular religion and ethno genesis.

Keywords : Mesoamerican Religion; Syncretism; Alfredo López Austin; "man-god"; "Christ-Sun".
