Abstract

The restriction measures considerably increased virtual activities, few know that the use of the Internet and its services increased the work of the Data Processing Centers, increasing the consumption of electricity, a similar situation occurred worldwide in the Technologies sector of Information and Communication, generating 2.5% to 3% of global greenhouse gas emissions and an increase of 14% is expected until 2040. The objective of the study is to raise awareness about the environmental impact of energy consumption electricity in the Data Centers and from these results the generated carbon footprint is established, the study was based on a bibliographic analysis in reliable sources.
